Fang-Hua LinProfessor of Mathematics
Fang Hua Lin has spent his entire academic career, starting in 1985, at NYU and the Courant Institute. He continues the longstanding Courant tradition of hard analysis applied to nonlinear partial differential equation and is a world leader in this area of mathematics. He has authored approximately 125 scientific papers and two advanced volumes of lecture notes and received a number of awards including a Sloan Fellowship and a National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator award. In January 2002, Fang-Hua received the American Mathematical Society Bôcher Prize, presented every three years to recognize outstanding papers in analysis.
